AIOps or autonomous IT operations?

Most AIOps tools tell you what failed. Autonomous IT operations fix it and verify the fix.

What is AIOps?

AIOps (artificial intelligence for IT operations) is the use of AI to group alerts and identify the root cause of incidents. Most platforms stop there: they correlate and hand the fix to a person. Autonomous IT operations close the loop by fixing the issue, verifying the result and learning from it.

The difference

Where each approach stops.

What matters is not detecting more, but resolving and verifying.

Control

The controls autonomous operations need.

Levels of autonomy. Every process should be able to run in manual mode, assisted mode with human approval, or autonomous mode, depending on its risk.

A record of every action. Every automated action must be logged for audit.

Escalation with context. Whatever the platform cannot resolve must reach a specialist with the diagnosis already done.

At N.Technology

We operate with AITops®.

Our managed IT services run on AITops®, an autonomous IT operations platform: it detects, understands the cause, fixes, verifies and learns, on top of your current tools and under your rules. It is not another AIOps tool for your team to operate. Learn more at AITops® and at www.aitops.ai.

FAQ

What clients ask us.

Does AIOps replace the IT team?

No. It automates repetitive work and leaves to specialists what requires judgment, with the diagnosis already done.

Is AITops® an AIOps platform?

It goes further: in addition to correlating and diagnosing, it executes the fix, verifies it and learns from every case, under your rules. That is why we call it autonomous IT operations.

What is the difference between AIOps and traditional monitoring?

Monitoring detects and alerts. AIOps also groups alerts and suggests the likely cause; remediation stays in human hands. Executing, verifying and learning is what autonomous IT operations add.

What are the risks of AI automation in IT?

Uncontrolled or unlogged actions. That is why you need levels of autonomy, human approval for critical actions and traceability for every action.
